Day 3:
Today we headed for Bedford, Mo. The weather forecast called for cloudy skies in the morning then clearing in the afternoon. For a while I was not sure he was right as it seemed the sun was never going to come out and perhaps we might even see some rain. Turns out though there was no need for concern as the sun did finally arrive around noon. Earlier in the day we crossed our first time zone from eastern to central daylight time. We hit our first milestone when at 12:03 PM we crossed the Mississippi River. We stopped at Bedford and checked into our motel. It was supposed to have wi fi but it didn't work. We headed out to a Mennonite buffet restaurant where we all ate far more than we should have. Back at the motel we played some cards before retiring for the night. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow, about 410 miles. Destination, Dodge City Kansas. Hopefully I can get this posted then.
